Mrs. Chen

Mrs. Chen brings nine years of teaching experience in Chinese language schools, where she has taught Chinese, dance, art, and traditional Chinese culture to children of different ages. She is passionate about working with children and is known for her patience, warmth, and ability to help every student feel confident and supported.

She believes that a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment are the foundation of every child's success. While maintaining clear classroom expectations, she creates engaging, interactive lessons that encourage students to participate, build confidence, and develop a genuine interest in learning Chinese and exploring Chinese culture.

In addition to teaching Chinese, Mrs. Chen also teaches Chinese dance, art, and cultural enrichment classes. She is a registered instructor with the Chinese Dancers Association and enjoys integrating art, movement, and cultural activities into her lessons to make learning meaningful, creative, and fun.

Parents appreciate Mrs. Chen's caring personality, strong communication skills, and dedication to helping every child grow both academically and personally.

Mrs. Zhao

Mrs. Joy graduated from Southwest University in China and brings eight years of hands-on teaching experience from Shanghai Shangde Experimental International School. Her teaching style is lively, engaging, and full of energy — she has a gift for turning what can feel like dry Chinese language learning into captivating, enjoyable lessons. With her creative approach, children not only pick up the language but also develop a genuine love for Chinese history and culture, all while having fun in the classroom. She is widely adored by both students and parents alike.

Mrs. Zhang

Mrs. Zhang graduated from Jianghan University in Wuhan with a degree in International Trade and worked for many years in an international company before moving to the United States. After coming to the U.S., she began teaching Chinese and has enjoyed working with children ever since.

In her fourth-grade class, she focuses on helping students build a strong foundation in Chinese while gradually developing their reading and writing skills. Students continue to strengthen their vocabulary and language skills while learning to understand longer texts and express their own ideas more clearly in Chinese.

She enjoys talking and discussing ideas with her students and encourages them to think, ask questions, and participate in class. Her goal is for students not only to do well in Chinese class, but also to become comfortable reading, understanding, and using Chinese in their everyday lives.

Ms. Xinyue Zhang

Ms. Xinyue Zhang earned dual bachelor’s degrees from Bard College with a full scholarship and received both her master’s and doctoral degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.

She has extensive experience teaching Chinese language and mathematics to elementary age students and is passionate about helping children achieve academic success while developing confidence and strong study habits.

Ms. Zhang focuses on building solid foundations in Chinese literacy, reading comprehension, writing skills, and mathematical reasoning. She believes every child can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement, and consistent practice.

With a deep understanding of both Chinese and American educational systems, Ms. Zhang is committed to supporting students academically while fostering curiosity, responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning.

Mrs. Yesenik

Sherry Yesenik is a highly qualified math specialist with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor’s degree from UT Austin. With certifications in ESL and Talented & Gifted, Sherry has spent 34 years perfecting her teaching craft. She prefers working with K–5 students to build strong mathematical foundations and has previously worked with leading tutoring centers like Sylvan and Kumon. A former resident of Brushy Creek, Sherry is eager to bring her extensive experience to the families at Morning Star Learning Center.

Mrs. Ye

Ms. Ye graduated from Nanchang University with dual degrees in International Trade and Accounting and later pursued graduate studies in Public Administration. She is passionate about working with children and helping them build confidence through learning.

As a parent herself, Ms. Ye believes that every child is unique and grows at their own pace. Just as different plants flourish in different seasons and environments, every child has their own strengths, interests, and path to success. She is committed to creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can develop confidence, strong learning habits, and a lifelong love of learning while growing into the best version of themselves.

Mrs. Chen

Ms. Chen earned her Master’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Hangzhou Normal University. She previously worked as a journalist, developing strong writing and communication skills, and has extensive experience teaching at Chinese language schools.

Passionate about Chinese education, Ms. Chen enjoys helping students strengthen their Chinese language abilities while connecting with their cultural heritage. Her teaching style is flexible, student-centered, and tailored to each learner’s needs. She is especially skilled at helping students improve their writing skills and believes that learning Chinese should be both enjoyable and practical.

Ms. Alycia

Alycia holds a Bachelor of Science in General Education (EC–6) from Stephen F. Austin State University and brings 7 years of teaching experience in literacy, language development, and STEM education. A Texas certified teacher with ESL certification, she has taught in Round Rock ISD and other educational settings, helping young learners build confidence and a love of learning.

She creates engaging reading lessons that strengthen comprehension, vocabulary, communication, and critical thinking while fostering a lifelong love of reading.

In addition to reading instruction, Alycia has extensive experience coaching FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics teams. Most recently, the team she coached earned Top 3 at the qualifier competition and Top 10 at Regionals. She enjoys helping students develop creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through hands-on robotics and STEM learning.

Mr. Wang

Mr. Wang has a strong background in science and education. He holds a Master’s degree in Physics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Master’s degree in Finance from Jinan University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Hunan Normal University. He previously taught college-level physics and also worked as a student advisor, giving him experience both in the classroom and in supporting students academically.

Mr. Wang also brings many years of professional experience in management and project coordination. He is patient, responsible, and organized, and values a structured and respectful classroom. With his background in physics and STEM, he enjoys encouraging students to think independently, ask questions, and develop good learning habits.

Ms. Jasmin

Jasmin Hight is a dedicated elementary educator with a Bachelor's degree in Education and a minor in Elementary Education from Saint Martin's University in Washington State. She is also Reading Academy certified and has spent the past eight years developing engaging, research-based instruction that helps young learners thrive.

Jasmin is passionate about teaching reading to students in kindergarten through second grade, with a strong emphasis on building a solid phonics foundation that leads to lifelong literacy success. Throughout her teaching career, she has also provided individualized tutoring, allowing her to meet students where they are and tailor instruction to their unique learning needs.

Her greatest passion is helping students bridge learning gaps, build confidence, and discover a love for learning. Jasmin believes that every child can succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and instructional strategies, and she is committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

Mrs. Li

Shanny Li is an experienced dancer, choreographer, and dance educator. She founded and led the female street dance group SPY, winning multiple dance competition awards in China. She performed seven roles in Jacky Cheung’s Snow.Wolf.Lake world tour, served as the China representative for Dance 2XS, and collaborated with Beyoncé’s team in Beijing. She also taught Jazz Dance at Beijing Contemporary Music Academy, with students including artist XIN Liu (Liu Yuxin).

Mrs. Siva Kunduru

Ms. Siva has worked with elementary students across multiple grade levels in Round Rock ISD since 2017. She has extensive experience supporting younger learners and helping students build strong foundational skills in a structured and encouraging classroom environment.

In early elementary math and reading, Ms. Siva focuses on number sense, reading comprehension, following directions, and solving word problems step by step. She creates a warm, organized classroom where students can strengthen core skills, develop good learning habits, and build confidence as independent learners.

Coach Erick

Coach Erick is an experienced educator and basketball coach who has worked with both elementary and middle school students. He currently teaches and coaches at the middle school level and has a strong background in classroom management, student engagement, and youth development.

In basketball, Coach Erick focuses on fundamentals, conditioning, teamwork, and discipline. He has coached at multiple grade levels and previously helped lead a team to a TAAPS state private school basketball championship. At Morning Star, he helps younger players build confidence while developing skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, and basic game understanding.
